About Our Auction

Welcome to the 2024 First Parish Community Auction!

Your Auction Team has been hard at work creating an event that we’re certain you’ll enjoy. Bidding is fun and easy using our new online system -- be sure to check back often to make sure you haven’t been outbid for that item you really really must have.

You’ll find an array of social events and guided walks, affordable flat-rate gatherings, vacation homes, personal services, gift certificates and more, all donated by generous First Parish friends. Bid high and bid often! And don’t hesitate to contact the Auction Team (auction@firstparishcambridge.org) if you have any questions or encounter any technical problems.

Why should you participate? The Community Auction is our single most significant fund-raiser, aside from the yearly pledge drive. Funds raised contribute importantly to the church’s operating budget – programs, salaries, overhead, etc. - as well as to the important work of Tuesday Meals. But more importantly, the Auction furthers our mission of creating community at First Parish by offering opportunities to come together in casual settings to enjoy amazing food and company. We look forward to seeing you at many of these events!

Thank you in advance for your generous bidding.

About First Parish in Cambridge

First Parish in Cambridge is a thriving congregation in the Unitarian Universalist tradition.  Located in Harvard Square, the original church was built in 1632. The fifth and present meetinghouse was erected in 1833.   We are excited to have recently resumed services in the historic meeting house on Massachusetts Avenue, which had been closed for repairs for several months,  Our worship service is also live-streamed each week on Zoom.

First Parish in Cambridge offers a myriad of ways to become connected through social justice groups, Soul Matters gatherings that foster small group spirituality discussion, and an active children's religious education program called OWL.  The church is also home to Y2Y Harvard Square, a young adult homeless shelter, Tuesday Meals offering weekly meals to the homeless, and Paine Senior Services dedicated to helping the aging population.  First Parish welcomes people of all beliefs, ages, classes, colors, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions. We are united in the belief of the dignity of all. We celebrate the sacred in all and encourage spiritual curiosity.

In our commitment to becoming a multicultural congregation, we acknowledge our complex history with roots embedded in the colonial equation of European migrants, enslaved African people and Native inhabitants of this land. We wrestle with this in part by sharing our own stories and calling into truth those stories hidden in the past. We do this with compassion, love and respect for one another as part of living our present day faith.
