2023 Folk Camp Online Auction

Welcome to Folk Camp Canada’s first-ever Online Auction!

The funding raised from this auction will go directly to supporting our beloved Summer Camp, a weeklong immersion into folk tradition from Ukraine, Eastern Europe, and beyond. Through craft, song, food, dance and ceremony, Camp provides participants from around the world the unique opportunity to explore and celebrate in the richness of our folk heritage, and to deepen their connection with the land and one another. Every bid will help us sustain this incredibly important cultural work, and will directly fuel folk learning and community building.

We are infinitely grateful to our wonderful donors, who have generously given the gift of their art, teaching, time, and skills. And of course, we are immensely thankful to you, the bidders! Please know that your support is an incredibly vital part of sustaining the magic of Summer Camp. Happy bidding!

MAKING A BID:
In the auction, there are two ways you can bid:

1. With the Exact Bid option, you can enter a one-time bid. If someone outbids you, you will receive a notification email and can come back and bid again.

2. With a Proxy Bid option, you enter the maximum amount you’d want to pay for the item, and the computer will bid for you up to that amount. If someone outbids your proxy bid, you will receive a notification email and can decide if you want to come back and bid again.

WINNING A BID:
After the auction ends, the winners will receive a confirmation email from the auction website, and a follow-up email from Folk Camp with further instructions.

PAYING & SHIPPING:
For payment, we would sincerely appreciate it if you pay Folk Camp directly by e-transfer or cheque, as there would be no fees for Folk Camp this way. However, if you prefer, you can pay online through the auction website with your credit card or Apple Pay.

Please note: all shipping fees are flat rate fees for shipping to anywhere in Canada. If you are interested in an item and are outside of Canada, please contact the auction administrator for shipping estimates.

FOLK CAMP CANADA is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing accessible community programming in the folk arts, with particular attention to the cultural traditions of Eastern Europe. We run ongoing educational programs through our Folk School, as well as coordinate several folk music and dance events throughout the year. We connect folk artists and artisans with schools, community organizations, and festivals, in addition to hosting our annual Summer Folk Camp, our biggest event of the year, a week-long program of workshops and activities. We welcome people of all identities and backgrounds; you don’t need to have Eastern European heritage to join!
