FQ Story Historic Home Tour Silent Auction

The FQ Story Historic Home Tour, which will take place December 7th, 2024 is not only a celebration of our community’s rich history and architectural beauty, but also a significant fundraiser for local preservation efforts. Funds raised allow  us to continue our mission to preserve and celebrate our neighborhood’s history, support our neighborhood schools, enhance safety measures and host events to bring our communities together.

The F.Q. Story Neighborhood Historic District is located in central Phoenix, Arizona. It runs from McDowell Road south to Roosevelt Street and from Seventh Avenue west to Grand Avenue. The neighborhood, as well as many of the individual houses, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 

The F.Q. Story neighborhood consists of 602 homes that were constructed from the late 1920s through the late 1940s. A variety of architectural styles, including Spanish Colonial Revival, English Tudor, Craftsman bungalows, as well as transitional ranch, are represented within the neighborhood.

The F.Q. Story Preservation Association, Inc. (SPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit neighborhood organization that was formed in 1982 to protect our neighborhood during the completion of I-10. The money we raised from our original Home Tours funded the Historic Preservation process, saved several homes from demolition, and placed our neighborhood on the National Registry of Historic Places. Today, we aim to preserve and celebrate our neighborhood’s history, support our neighborhood schools, enhance safety measures, and host events to bring our communities together.
