GBCRA's 2024 Student Scholarship Auction
Thanks to the generous contributions of our members, we have successfully raised over $25,000.00 to support two vital student scholarships. These funds dont just help students cover tuition; they open doors to opportunities that can change their lives forever.
This year, we are excited to announce our goal of raising an additional $4,000.00 to bolster our endowment fund. Every dollar you contribute will help ensure that future generations of students have access to the education they deserve. Imagine the difference your support can make to students realizing their dreams, pursuing their passions, and contributing back to our community.
Lets come together to make a difference. Join us in reaching our $4,000.00 goal and continue the legacy of support and encouragement that defines the George Brown College Retirees' Association. Your generosity will echo through the lives of students for years to come.
This year, we are happy to introduce our first-ever "blended" auction. Kicking off on November 7th, our online auction will allow you to explore and bid on an array of unique items from the comfort of your home. At 9 AM on November 21, the online auction closes and at 1:00 PM that same day, the live auction begins. Our “proxy bidding”feature will allow you to continue bidding with one "Hail Mary" bid, even if you can’t attend the live event. For more information about the live auction see the information box on the auction site.

Live Event Information
The GBCRA 2024 on-line Scholarship Auction will end at 9:00 AM on November 21 and transition to a live Silent Auction that same day from 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM at the Heliconian Club, 35 Hazelton Avenue Toronto M5R 2E3. Once the transition occurs you can still continue to bid using our “proxy bid” feature which enables you to place one final bid even if you are unable to attend the live event. Along with the auction, a light lunch will be provided and, back by popular demand, classical pianist Rudin Lengo will entertain us with selections of music from his upcoming 2025 concert series. In addition, there will be an art show where artists from all over Ontario will join GBCRA members to display their works. Artists have agreed to donate 20% of any sales to our scholarship fund.
Attendance at this event requires a separate registration and there is a $20.00 fee. To register go to https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/mp26x23
