Neighborhood Music School: Healing, Hope & Harmony

Neighborhood Music School has served the community of Boyle Heights and Los Angeles County for 107 years by providing access to music education, bridge building opportunities and cultural experiences. This year, we are aiming to raise funding for our transformative programs and to launch a campaign for our next exciting phase of growth and development. As we emerge from the pandemic, we hear the need for music, creativity, and connection more than ever before. It is both our goal and mission to answer this call.

Neighborhood Music School believes that lives change through music. Founded in 1914, we provide low cost/high quality one-on-one music instruction to those who need it most. Located in a charming Victorian house in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, we are proud to serve as an anchor to our community, a bridge to cultural exchange and opportunity, and an usher to the mentorship between teacher and student that is integral in music instruction and in life.
