About Just Beat It - Tour De Cure 2023
Please support us in the Tour de Cure!
This August team JUST BEAT IT will be embarking on a road biking challenge for the second time! Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
In November 2020 Anouschka was diagnosed with an advanced stage 4 colon cancer, metastasized to her liver and BC Cancer Agency played a major role in her recovery. 12 rounds of chemo, 1 week of radiations and 3 surgeries later, we decided to sign up to participate in our first Tour de Cure. Our first experience was so much fun that we immediately signed up for the 2023 edition (without knowing that it would be 200km). Anouschka's cancer has now metastasized to her lungs and lymph's (typical for colon cancer), it's managed through chemotherapy and hoping for new treatment options.
The team is growing and it's so exciting! We all have our reasons to raise monies for cancer, but primarily cancer has affected all of us in different ways. The "original" 3 (Lana, Karine and Anouschka) are skiers/snowboarders, and live in 3 of the best ski towns of BC (Nelson, Whistler & Rossland). We connect when we play outside! In 2021 they participated in the Half-corked marathon (none of them are long distance runners). Anouschka could not go through life without these 2 by her side!
Please consider supporting our team by making a donation today. Your gift will help us achieve our fundraising goal AND motivate us in this challenge!
This is personal, but cancer affects all of us in many different ways.
Thank you so much for your support!
