Our annual Meadowlark Nature Festival depends on the generous support of local donations, sponsorship, and regional grants, in order to offer high quality and accessible environmental programming.

As a celebration of the natural environment of this region, our festival has a huge impact on educating about and fostering appreciation for the environment and biodiversity of the South Okanagan-Similkameen area.

About Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance

Meadowlark Nature Festival is the flagship event presented each year by the Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance (OSCA), a registered non-profit, charitable organization. This year's festival will be held on May 16th-20th, 2024.

For more than 20 years, the Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance (OSCA) has been providing people of all ages with opportunities to experience, discover, explore and protect our amazing natural environment in the South Okanagan-Similkameen area.

It is a biologically unique area with both high wildlife diversity and high numbers of species at risk, and is recognized as one of Canada’s most endangered natural systems.

Every year our Meadowlark Nature Festival celebrates and raises awareness about our local environment with a unique interactive, multi-disciplinary event. The festival offers a range of nature appreciation and educational activities such as, walking, hiking, cycling, and exploratory tours, each with their own unique focus. These outdoor activities are led my local educators who share their expertise about natural environment and culture through various perspectives, including indigenous traditional knowledge, sustainable agriculture, nature sciences, visual arts, architecture, conservation, and more. Our festival offers experiential, accessible opportunities for all age to get outside and interact directly with nature.
