NFB of Virginia State Convention 2021

The 2021 State Convention Auction will support the new National Federation of the Blind of Virginia Silver Bells program. The Silver Bells program will connect blind and low vision seniors with training on alternative non-visual techniques, self-advocacy skills, and will introduce individuals to our positive philosophy on blindness. This program is available for seniors from throughout the Commonwealth and will enable them to live full, active and productive lives. Your contribution to the auction will go directly to this program.

The National Federation of the Blind of Virginia (NFBV) is a community of members and friends who believe in the hopes and dreams of the nation’s blind. Every day we work together to help blind people live the lives they want.

The National Federation of the Blind of Virginia promotes the general welfare of the blind by assisting the blind in our efforts to integrate ourselves into society on terms of equality and by removing barriers that result in the denial of opportunity to blind persons in virtually every sphere of life, including education, employment, family and community life, transportation, recreation, politics, and voting. NFBV’s goal of complete integration of the blind into society on a basis of equality includes removal of legal, economic, and social discrimination.
