2024 Pie it Forward Auction

The 2024 Pie it Forward auction is here!

Building on the success of 2020's auction, the 2024 Pie it Forward auction will feature pies from over 25 local bakers. Proceeds will support two Somali refugee students to attend the renowned SUNY Delhi Nursing Program (funds will contribute to tuition, housing, meals, books, lab fees, and living expenses during their first year in Delhi). We have set a goal of $5000!

The auction will be open from June 10 - June 19th. Winners can pick up their pies on June 22nd at Mountain Brook Inn in Bovina from 11-1. We will have refreshments, treats, and more information on this effort. All are welcome at this gathering even if you aren't picking up or dropping off a pie!

SUNY Delhi and the Delaware County Citizens for Refugee Support (DCCRS) have joined forces with Welcome Corps on Campus to sponsor two Somali refugee students, Ikran & Deeko, as they move from the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya to study nursing in Delhi NY. DCCRS was formed in 2021 by Delaware County residents Dan Gashler, Esther Lee, Sangeeta Pratap, and Mina Takahashi. DCCRS has hosted an immigration and refugee rights study group, sponsored four Russian political asylum seekers, coordinated efforts to support refugee families housed at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, and has participated in local and statewide advocacy work related to refugee, migrant, and asylee rights.
