Μάτι 'mati' is a protective symbol used in Greece and many others countries in the world to protect oneself and living spaces from all negative energies.

Contemporary Greek/Canadian Artist Eva Maria Minarakis has donated this original handmade, one of a kind Artwork to Pink in the City foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness month. All funds raised from this auction will support the breast clinic wellness program designed to support women throughout their breast cancer journey. Through the program, patients have access to psychologists, nutritionists, exercise physiologists, sex therapists, and physicians to help them cope with their diagnosis and provide proper diet advice, personalized meals and stay fit and active during treatments.

About the artist:
Eva Maria Minarakis is a contemporary fluid mixed media Artist.
She uses fluid paints and pours them on surfaces and watches them 'dance' , as she describes it, to create a calming flow. Inspired by nature's movement and colors, she uses an untraditional way of painting and different techniques to bring nature's calmness into your space. For her love of texture and elegance, she uses different material and products to create 3D details to get that wow factor on her creations.
Eva has been a contributor and volunteer to Pink on the City since 2015 and all funds raised on her donated Artworks have supported the Breast Cancer Organization.

Pink in the City is a charity that was started by students and works collaboratively through the Model the Way program to raise awareness and support the network of those impacted bu Breast Cancer.

Pink in the City has made significant contributions to the philanthropic forum of our community for the past 15 years.To date, our organization has surpassed 1M milestone with the generous charitable contributions of Corporate partners, Sponsors and Donors that hold philanthropic and humanitarian causes such as ours close to their heart.

This year our fundraising efforts are focused to support the breast cancer clinic wellness program at the MUHC. The MUHC's Breast Clinic Wellness program offers a range of services specially designed to support women throughout their breast cancer journey. Through the program, patients have access to:
-A five session series to introduce patients to their physicians, the Breast Cancer Clinic and the many resoiurces available to them.
-A psychologist to help patients cope with their diagnosis
-Nutritionists to provide diet advice and personalized meal plans
-Exercise physiologists to help patients stay fit and active during treatment
-A sex therapist to address issues with intimacy and body image

Preparing the next generation to lead and enable team success. Pink in the City works with young people through Model the way program to develop the competency, capacity, compassion and fortitude to lead. Model The Way students are included as partners on the Pink in the Coty team in their journey to support breast cancer patients. The women, men, doctors and survivors who are dedicated to serve and support patients mentor our young people.
