About Our Auction

The 3rd Annual RIDE FOR ALS is happening Saturday, June 15. Net proceeds will be donated To The Ottawa Hospital Foundation directed to research.

This online auction is intended to reach the masses, not just the riders participating in the annual motorcycle fundraiser. Before my brother Steve passed, I promised him that I would promote and fundraise for this horrible disease. The Steve Hastie Memorial Ride was founded in 2022 and our mission is to raise awareness and much needed funds for ALS Research.

We wanted to be able to invite all of our friends and neighbours to join us in our fight against ALS. Those wishing to support our cause can bid on some fantastic items, graciously donated by local businesses and supporters.

About RIDE FOR ALS - Steve Hastie Memorial Ride

3rd Annual RIDE FOR ALS is happening Saturday, June 15. Proceeds will be donated to ALS Research at The Ottawa Hospital.

Our brother was diagnosed with ALS on January 7, 2021 and we lost Steve only months later on May 14, 2021. Steve's battle was gruelling, frustrating, and just overall devastatingly fast. Steve accepted his diagnosis, faced this disease head on, and ultimately met his death with so much dignity. Before Steve passed, I promised him that I would promote and fundraise for this horrible disease. The Steve Hastie Memorial Ride was founded in 2022 and our mission is to raise awareness and much needed funds for ALS Research.

There are actually 4 parts to this event:

1. Breakfast from 8:30am-9:30am at MyCar in Richmond - open to the community for a donation to our cause. Sponsored by the Royals Restaurant, the local community is welcome to come out in the morning for a coffee or juice, and enjoy a fresh, hot egg sandwich and see the riders off!

2. The Ride - Kickstands up at 10am riding a scenic route to Top Shelf Distillers in Perth for live entertainment by Three2Go Band.

3. The Celebration - Kichesippi Beer Co, the ride's ending location. The community is welcome to stop in to see the bikes and enjoy some live music with Jamie Douglas. Patrons can also purchase a special ALS Ride 6-pack of beer where a percentage of each 6-pack will be donated to the cause.

4. Online auction - available to the public to bid on various items graciously donated by local businesses and supporters.
