Snowflake Ball 2022

Welcome to the Snowflake Ball 2022 Online Auction! The auction will go live February 25th at 3 p.m. and will end March 6th at 9 p.m.

The Snowflake Ball is a fundraiser that benefits the Senior Companion Program. This annual live event will take place March 5 and is currently sold out. It's an evening of dancing, food and even more in-person auction items. For more information, visit us at knoxseniors.org.

The Senior Companion Program engages those age 55 years and older in volunteer service to provide companionship and support to older adults who are experiencing loneliness, isolation, and barriers of aging. This volunteer program allows seniors to build meaningful relationships with one another in adult day facilities and in-home settings.

This service is provided at no cost to the care recipient or their family.
Senior Companions work with many different types of individuals, such as:

• Adults recovering from illness
• Hospice patients
• Seniors recovering from major surgery
• Individuals who feel alone and isolated
• Seniors battling dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease

Where The Money Goes:

The Senior Companion volunteers receive a small stipend for their service which helps them purchase necessities such as food and medicine; however, the satisfaction of feeling needed and appreciated is a much better reward than any amount of money.

This past year, Senior Companions provided support and friendship to over 250 seniors in Knox County at no cost. There are over 300 seniors waiting for a companion.

Funds raised through the Snowflake Ball are allocated to cover the stipend, meals, and transportation costs for Senior Companion Volunteers.
