Spellbound for Literacy 2024

Spellbound for Literacy is WALC's annual fundraiser to support our mission throughout the year. The funds raised sustain our programs and ensure all our literacy services remain free to our learners. With your help, we are able to offer formal classes, provide learning materials, guarantee our learners are able to come to class, and generally champion literacy in the community.

The Winnebago Area Literacy Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been actively serving the community since 1989. We provide relevant literacy instruction and programming to hundreds of community members. Our mission is to provide free learner-centered adult literacy services. We primarily serve people who are learning English. We take an individualized approach and presume competence in all of our learners.
