About Our Auction
Spin To Win is back in its third year, this time to raise money for two high need food banks, New York City and San Antonio.
I started this event after watching and reading all the devastating reports of children locked up in cages at our border, and of families being torn apart. I wanted to donate to any organization that could help these people reunite with their families and get the legal representation they deserved.
The first event took place at Hank’s Saloon in Brooklyn in 2018, and was an all-night DJ-palooza and raffle – hence the name – and raised $2500 for the ACLU’s immigrants rights division and Make The Road, a NY-based organization that helps immigrants in New York with a variety of services. In 2019, I did it as an online auction, since Hank’s had closed and I thought that I could raise more as an online auction. I got 30 prizes and ended up raising $4500 for the ACLU’s immigrants right division.
This year, I want to raise money for food banks, since no one should ever have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Times were hard before the pandemic, and have only gotten harder. My goal is to raise $6000, and with this amazing collection of prizes donated by the most generous and all around awesome people, I know we can do it.
About Food Bank For New York City, San Antonio Food Bank
FOOD BANK FOR NEW YORK CITY:
To end hunger by organizing food, information and support for community survival, empowerment, and dignity. Food Bank For New York City has been working to end food poverty in New York City's five boroughs for over 36 years. As the city’s largest hunger-relief organization, they employ a multifaceted approach centered on helping low-income New Yorkers overcome their circumstances and achieve greater independence.

SAN ANTONIO FOOD BANK:
The San Antonio Food Bank takes pride in fighting hunger, feeding hope in their 16 county service area. They believe that no child should go to bed hungry, adults should not have to choose between a hot meal and utilities, nor a senior sacrifice medical care for the sake of a meal.
Founded in 1980, The San Antonio Food Bank has quickly grown to serve 58,000 individuals a week in one of the largest service areas in Texas. Their focus is for clients to have food for today but to also have the resources to be self-sufficient in the future.
Fighting hunger is their number one priority but they also serve to educate and provide assistance in many other ways. They achieve this through their variety of programs and resources available to families, individuals, seniors, children, and military members in need.
