About Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms

The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms is the former country estate of Gustav Stickley, a pioneering leader of the American Arts and Crafts movement. Although hundreds of home designs have been attributed to this early 20th-century designer and tastemaker, Craftsman Farms is the only home Stickley ever designed and built for his own use. Located in Morris Plains, the 30-acre site features the noted 1911 Log House, widely recognized as one of the most significant buildings of the Arts and Crafts movement, as well as eight additional original Stickley buildings. Rescued from private development in 1989, Craftsman Farms was designated a National Historic Landmark and awarded a Save America’s Treasures Grant from the National Park Service and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
