Type 1 Diabetes Optimist Club 2018 Online Auction

Our goal in holding this auction is two fold. First, we are raising money to fund scholarships to send at least 30 kids to Camp Colorado. Camp Colorado is a one week camp near Colorado Springs held by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). This camp is exclusively for children with type 1 diabetes (T1D). In 2016 and 2017, the Type 1 Diabetes Optimist Club (T1DOC) raised enough money to help send over 30 kids to camp. Without these scholarships, some of these kids would not have the opportunity to attend camp. The second goal of this auction is to make a donation directly to JDRF. JDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is one of the few organizations with the scientific resources, policy influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.

As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, JDRF is currently sponsoring more than $568 million in scientific research in 17 countries.
