Power of the Purse

Welcome to our 2022 Power of the Purse online auction. Power of the Purse is the only fundraiser for L.I.F.E. (Literacy Is Fun For Everyone.) This auction will help to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library that helps put free books into the hands of children from birth to age 5 in Whiteside County.

Items may be previewed at United Way of Whiteside County, 502 1st Ave. Sterling, IL 61081, Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-12pm.

Please note that the desserts can be ordered following the auction. Winning bidders will make their own arrangements with the baker and should give a one-week notice.

Literacy Is Fun For Everyone (LIFE) makes reading exciting and fun for children in Whiteside County! Each month a new, carefully selected book is mailed in the child’s name directly to their home, with no cost or obligation to the family. LIFE is available to all children in Whiteside County from birth to age 5. LIFE is a program of United Way of Whiteside County.
