Wine on Wheels 2016 Silent Auction

Our Wine on Wheels Silent Auction will begin online and conclude at the live event at City Winery on April 16th. Thank you all for your support!!

All auctions items have been generously donated and all proceeds will go directly to supporting those living with disabilities.

Wheeling forward was founded to counteract the lack of resources and support available for persons with disabilities. Our mission is to help people achieve their goals regardless of what obstacles are in their way and help those recently disabled to obtain the services they need to lead a confident, full life. Working to address a range of diverse potential needs as people adapt to life with a long term disability, Wheeling Forward helps with every step of this process; assisting to navigate the health and social service systems, helping to find the right wheelchair and learning how to get around comfortably and confidently. Our wheelchair donation program is the largest on the east coast providing the proper power and manual chairs to those in need. We organize adaptive sporting events like sky diving, waterskiing, and scuba diving, provide need-based educational scholarships for tuition and assistive technology and advocate to transition young people out of nursing homes to live independently in the community. In 2015, the Axis project was born; an innovative multidisciplinary wellness and community center specifically designed for people with disabilities. The center is open six days a week offering various programs and activities designed to empower, support and motivate those physically challenged to pursue a healthy, active and informed lifestyle.

There is a grave misconception of the disabled community that living a meaningful life or achieving success is only defined by being “cured”. At Wheeling Forward, we do not and never will accept that line of thinking. We believe success should be measured by one’s personal fulfillment and we strive to assist disabled individual’s attain that fulfillment by achieving their goals.
