Paint the Garden, Yarmouth Community Garden

PAINT THE GARDEN is an online art auction that supports Yarmouth Community Garden's great work.

17 local artists visited the garden, took to their easels and captured a scene they love. Here's where you can view their artwork:

* We will be taking bids @ YCG Harvest Celebration Oct. 17 at Railway Square Pavilion on Main St., however, due to weather the art will not be on display.

At least half the proceeds of each sale will be donated to YCG. Artists marked as "patron of the garden" have agreed to donate 100%.

YCG includes more than 100 volunteers who grow roughly 4,000 pounds of organic vegetables annually for people in the community.

Since its founding in 2003, YCG has distributed more than 50,000 pounds of produce to organizations such as the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, the summer Lunch Crunch program for Yarmouth children, Meals on Wheels and variety of senior housing complexes. YCG is the largest community garden contributor to the Maine Harvest for Hunger program.

YCG also provides a warm, welcoming place for community members of all ages to play in the dirt. The group offers garden plots for rent, educational programs for children and adults, a summer camp for children, and a community full of gardeners eager to learn from each other and share what they know.

YCG is a fully self-supporting Town of Yarmouth program administered through Yarmouth Community Services.
